The Dairy Herd Returns to Pasture!

On Tuesday, April 28, Hawthorne Valley Farm’s dairy herd paraded to pasture for the first time this spring! Encouraged by the cheers and laughter of students from Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School and the Visiting Students Program, and community members, the cows galloped and pranced their way to the grassy field next to the play yard.

Over the April Spring Break, six Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School (HVS) high school students built the first stretch of the Biodiversity Trail at Hawthorne Valley in partnership with the Berkshires-based nonprofit Greenagers.
