On Tuesday, November 28, at 7:30 p.m., Steffen Schneider, Co-founder and Senior Director, Institute for Mindful Agriculture, and Director Emeritus of Farm Operations and Hawthorne Valley Farm, will present a report with slides of his recent trip to India. The presentation will focus on biodynamic initiatives in North India as well as Steffen’s participation in the 2017 IFOAM Organic World Congress in Delhi. Steffen was a panelist for a discussion on the topic of “Organic in the Eye of Consumers and the Media,” on November 10, along with Daniel Bartschi (Bio Suisse), Jing Wang (Greenpeace), Karin Ullven (SLU – Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences), Monique Marez (Director, International Trade, OTA – Organic Trade Association), and Dr. Peter Mokaya (Director & CEO, Organic Consumers Alliance).
The Organic World Congress of IFOAM – Organics International is held every 3 years in a different country. The aim of the Congress and related activities is to share experiences, innovations and knowledge about the organic world, while giving the organizing country global visibility. The Congress provides inspiration and momentum for all those who take part in it; it is the leading event for the development of the organic sector worldwide.
Steffen’s presentation and Q&A on Tuesday, will take place in Hawthorne Valley’s Learning Center located in the cream-colored building in front of the milking barn (327 County Route 21C, Ghent, NY 12075).
