Waldorf marionette and hand-dyed silksHawthorne Valley’s Magical Puppet Tree puppetry group is hosting a Puppetry Festival and Ice Cream Social on Sunday, July 29th, from 2-4 p.m., under the Hawthorne Valley Farm Store Pavilion (327 County Route 21C, Ghent, NY 12075). This FREE public event is being held in collaboration with Magical Puppet Tree’s annual Puppetry Arts Conference, and will feature two nationally-acclaimed puppet masters:

  • Jennifer Aguirre of the Acorn Garden in Sonora California will present, “Song of the Sea,” at 2:15 p.m.; and
  • Susannah White and Amelia McIsaac & Friends from Carapace Farm will perform, “The Little White Duck and Friends,” at 3:30 p.m.

In addition, artists and craftspeople will offer handmade puppets, toys, and plant-dyed silks for sale. Free ice cream courtesy of Hawthorne Valley Farm Store and the Magical Puppet Tree.

Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School’s Magical Puppet Tree theater group is dedicated to bringing the wisdom and humor of story to life through exploration in puppetry arts.
