Unconventional by Nature

Hawthorne Valley Association

Join us on Saturday, May 3 from 10am-3pm for our May Day Celebration & Spring Fair to celebrate the season! Traditional May Pole dancing will start at 10am, followed by unique children’s activities (like Pillow Jousting and the Dragon Run!), delicious food, live music, select vendors, and more!

Advanced Activity Passes* are now available for purchase! Passes are $10/child in advance here and $15/child at the Information Table at the Spring Fair. The passes are required for activities including Pillow Jousting, Banana Pole, Field Games, Dragon Run, and Boat Making. Passes are not required for the Kindergarten yard. Pre-ordered passes can be picked them up from the Main Office on Friday, May 2 or at Will Call at the Information Table at the Fair.

This year, we are thrilled to bring back the Zip Line! Zip Line tickets must be purchased separately for $5/ride. You can pre-order your child’s tickets here, or purchase at the Information Table at the Fair. If you have any questions, contact Karine Bouis-Towe.

Advanced Puppet Show tickets** for the Magical Puppet Tree’s presentation of “The Apple Cake” will be available in Turose, beginning on Monday, April 28. Show times are 1pm & 2pm in the School Assembly Hall. We anticipate that each show will fill quickly, so be sure to get your tickets early.

**Tickets must be purchased in-person at Turose on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Acorn Players Present "The Apple Cake"

At 1pm and 2pm, the HVS Student Troupe will present an adaption of Nienke van Hichtum’s The Apple Cake in the School Assembly Hall. This delightful silk marionette performance features storytelling by Gaby Hoffman and music by Joachim Cooder.

An old woman longs to make an apple cake but is without the most essential ingredient…. As she journeys out into the world, the beauty of reciprocity unfolds.

Tickets are $5 and will be available in Turose starting on Monday, April 28.
