Hawthorne Valley Farm's Creamery is thrilled to announce the addition of Biodynamic® and organic pasteurized milk to its product line. Pasteurized milk in quart and half gallon sizes are now available at the Farm Store and our market stands in New York City.
We are grateful to Assemblymember Didi Barret (D-Columbia, Dutchess) for helping us secure a $125,000 state grant for the purpose of expanding our dairy production to include pasteurized milk, and to GrowNYC for pre-approval to sell our milk at market stands to meet the soaring demand for local, organic milk.
And don't worry--our raw milk will still be available on-site in the Farm Store and as an add-on share option for our Harlemville CSA. This new offering is all about giving customers more ways to enjoy local, Biodynamic, and organic goodness.

Creating a Sustainable System
Hawthorne Valley Farm's Creamery is proud to contribute to a sustainable regional milk supply chain by offering co-packing services for small local farms. The additional capacity to process pasteurized fluid milk will provide additional opportunities for the local dairy industry.
The pasteurization project is one of many upgrades to the Creamery to improve the building’s ventilation system and decrease its carbon footprint through equipment improvements. Additionally, the installation of a biofiltration system with Biohabitats for wash water created through dairy processing, will return the water clean to the aquifer. These projects are part of Hawthorne Valley’s wider Net Positive Initiative to de-carbonize its campus and give back more to the environment than it extracts.
