Habitat Exploration Walk: Olana Wagon House Education Center
Join Farmscape Ecology researchers and authors of From the Hudson to the Taconics: An Ecological and Cultural Field Guide to the Habitats of Columbia County, New York for a walk exploring Olana’s landscape from the perspective of habitats. Whether one is already familiar with Olana or visiting for the first time, this walk is designed to help everyone “see more colors” in Frederic Church’s landscape. Participants will experience several habitats through multiple lenses, including history, culture, sensory immersion, and ecology, and learn how to recognize patterns in the distribution of plants and animals associated with them.
This event is offered in collaboration with The Olana Partnership at Olana State Historic Site and is part of “Olana Third Thursdays.”
FREE, no registration required, meet at the Wagon House Education Center.
