Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School is pleased to announce that Meaghan McKenna will be the class teacher of our rising First Grade in the Fall of 2020.
Ms. McKenna, an experienced Hawthorne Valley faculty member, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from Harvard University and a Master’s degree in Waldorf Education from Antioch University N.E. Meaghan is excited to move into grade one this Fall, refining the curriculum she has developed over the past 5 years.
Ms. McKenna’s decision to take our rising First Grade has been made possible by new definitions of our academic cycles at HVS. As our first grade curriculum is a half day program, Meaghan will be utilizing some afternoon teaching time to stay connected with the rising 6th grade. Meaghan will also be in an advisory role to some of these students.
